Kid saved from being sacrificed; father and occultist held

Ahmedabad, Apr 13 (UNI) Police today rescued a severely bruised boy from the clutches of a pseudo-occultist who, in collusion with the boy's father, was about to sacrifice him.

Police said Mohammed Rafique, who claims to be an occultist, had told Ayub Ali that he would get 'hidden treasure' if he sacrificed his son Mohammed (5).

As the victim's father agreed, both took away the child on Monday and hid him at his grandmother's place.

However, the child's mother suspected some foul play and lodged a complaint with police.

Acting on a tip-off by the neighbours, police this morning recovered the child, but in grievously injured state with scars all over the body and sore eyes.

The child has been admitted to hospital while Rafique and the boy's father have been arrested.
