JD (S) had to go it alone: Ganesan
Pondicherry, Apr 13 (UNI) The AIADMK-PMC combine's reluctance to allot one seat to the Janata Dal (Secular) in Pondicherry forced the party to go it alone in the elections, Party president E Ganesan said here today.
Addressing the press, Mr Ganesan said when JD (S) Chief Deve Gowda requested AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa to allot a seat in Pondicherry as in Tamil Nadu, she suggested it could be got from PMC's quota.
However, both the AIADMK and the PMC ignored the JD(S), he charged.
Accusing PMC president P Kannan of pursuing opportunistic politics, Mr Ganesan said Mr Kannan was roping in Congress dissidents as party candidates.
Mr Ganesan said JD (S) will contest 11 seats in Pondicherry and Karaikal regions of the union territory.
