Japanese education centre to be set-up in Bangalore
Singapore, Apr 13: Singapore-based Nihongo Bashi and Bangalore-based Rashtriya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST) will jointly set up a Centre of Excellence in Japanese education in Bangalore, it was announced here at the inaugural session of the "Connecting India Summit".
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the two organisations to set up the centre, which would offer one-year full time Post Graduate Diploma in Japanese Management, starting in this Fall.
"This tie up is particularly significant since it is the first major cooperation treaty in the education services sector between Singapore and Indian organisations since the two countries signed the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement last year," a joint statement released in Singapore said.
The programme will also be open for students from Singapore and would be set up with a joint investment of 8 million dolars over the next five years.
"This one year programme will produce future leaders with the requisite skills who will be able to communicate seamlessly and effectively with customers just like their counterparts in the US do today," said Nihongo Bashi president Karthik Tirupathi.
RSST president Panduranga Setty said the centre was only logical, considering the exciting career prospects opening up for professionals with skills in Japanese management, language and culture.
