IIIT website to give legal aid to poor

Allahabad, Apr 13 (UNI) The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Allahabad, in collaboration with the Delhi District Court has developed a first of its kind website to create legal awareness and provide legal aid to all, especially poor people.

The website will be unveiled by the Institute Director M D Tiwari during the three-day national seminar on ''Empowering rural India through Information Communication Technology,'' starting at IIIT Amethi campus from April 15.

Dr Tiwari said here today that the website that gives vital information on basic aspects of jurisprudence, revenue, police, besides directory of Sultanpur district, will also provide legal aid to people, who cannot afford lawyer services.

The IIIT Director further said people can also lodge complaints to be forwarded to the concerned officials through proper channel followed by replies.

The site has been developed in in Hindi and five other languages and the Institute is trying to develop it in all indian languages so that every person in the country can have access to it.
