Homage paid to Jallianwala Bagh martyrs
Amritsar, Apr 13 (UNI) People today paid Homage to the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh massacre of April 13, 1919 and wreaths were laid at the Flame of Liberty in the Jallianwala Bagh National Memorial Complex here.
Prominent among those who paid homage were Kerala Governor Bhatia, Union Minister for Small Scale, Agro and Rural Industries Mahavir Prasad, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal and Punjab Predesh Congress Committee chief Shamsher Singh Dhullo.
A two-minute silence was observed at 1600 hours, the time when Brig Gen R E H Dyre ordered his troops to fire on peaceful demonstraters protesting against the British rule. Hundreds of innocent people including women and children were killed UNI XC HS RR BST1940
