Angul, Talcher, Apr 13 (UNI) Authorities today sounded a high alert and reviewed security measures in the two nearby industrial hubs as measures against possible terrorist attacks on important industries.

Sources said police beefed up extra security measures after an ''abundance of caution'' notice from intelligence agencies.

'' There is a threat perception. We have started initiating measures against possible attacks. We together with CISF are in high alert mode to protect important industries like NALCO's plant at Angul, NTPC at Kaniha and the Talcher Thermal Power Plant as these could be possible terrorist targets, '' Angul Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Singh said.

The entry and exit points to these plants had been scrutinised and restricted. People had been asked to have a close look on strangers, tenants and visitors.

Additional police force had been deployed in public places like bus stand and railway station and other sensitive localities of the towns.
