Eunuchs demonstrate for their status

Balasore, Apr 13 (UNI) Eunuchs from different parts of Orissa today demonstrated outside the Collectorate here to press for their 12-point charter of demands.

They held a meeting which was addressed by All Orissa Eunuchs Association President Pratap Sahoo.

The eunuchs' demands included social security and justice, enumeration of all eunuchs of the state, licence to their profession, a separate colony for them with allotment of land and pension to those above 50 years.

The eunuchs came from the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Puri and Khurda. They later handed over a memorandum listing their demands to Additional District Magistrat e Duryodhan Giri.
