DMRC to vacate CP outer ring in ten days, Central park to take longe

New Delhi, Apr 13 (UNI) The outer ring of Connaught Place would soon miss the "ubiquitous presence" of personnel of the Delhi Metro.

The DMRC will soon finish its work on the outer ring, where the entry and exit points of most of the Metro stations in Connaught Place are located.

''In about ten days time, the DMRC will finish all its work on the outer ring of the Connaught Place. By April 20, we will vacate these areas,''DMRC spokesperson Anuj Dayal told UNI here.

''In any case, we had taken up very little land on the outer ring of Connaught Place, for the purpose of constructing the entry and exit points of the Metro stations,''Mr Dayal said on the grouse of agencies like the NDMC that the development work in Connaught Place was held up because Metro personnel stationed in the area.

With the DMRC vacating the outer ring, the only area remaining with it would be the Central Park.

Mr Dayal said it would be some more time before the DMRC vacates the Central Park in Connaught Place.

''The Central park will remain with the DMRC till the end of June when it will be handed over to the NDMC,''he said.

He said the Metro would soon begin work on landscaping of the Central Park.

''Under the landscaping work, we will be constructing an amphitheatre and a water body at the Central Park which will be completed only by June,''Mr Dayal said.
