CPI state unit opposes increase of Narmada height
Mumbai, Apr 13 (UNI) The state unit of CPI opposed the Narmada Control Authority (NCA) decision to increase the height of the controversial Narmada dam.
In a release, party secretary Dr Balchandra Kango said the decision to increase the height of the dam to 121 metres from 110 metres was in contravention of the Supreme Court order.
He added that it was an attempt to misguide the people and termed the entire move illegal. Some 3,000 out of 35,000 families from the state are still awaiting rehabilitation, he added.
