Wrong caption irks Meghalaya youth Congress

Shillong, Apr 12 (UNI) A local vernacular paper in Meghalaya has erroneously carried a photograph of an Oscar award winner saying the picture was that of Congress president Sonia Gandhi before her marriage.

The party's youth wing, has expressed concern over the matter, and demanded an apology from the daily.

On March 29, the newspaper had published a picture of an Oscar award winner Reese Witherspoon with the caption that it was that of Congress President Sonia Gandhi before her marriage.

Irked over the wrong depiction, the Indian Youth Congress sought an apology from the newspaper at a press conference yesterday.

They termed the picture as an 'insult to the party and women in general in India'.
