Two cheats arrested for duping bank of lakhs
New Delhi, Apr 12 (UNI) Police have arrested two people, for allegedly duping a bank of several lakhs on the pretext of mortgaging a house.
Abhayveer Bhatia (49) was arrested on April 7 by the sleuths of the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) from his residence in Hari Nagar area of West Delhi, where he had come to perform some puja, according to the police.
His interrogation led to the arrest of his colleague, I S Sandhu (55) who had taken the loan from the Najafgarh branch of Punjab National Bank by mortgaging the house of Bhatia in 1991.
Soon after the loan amount was passed, both went underground to escape the police.
