Sweltering heat grips in Bengal
Kolkata, Apr 12 (UNI) With the mercury showing no signs of dipping, it seems the Kolkatans are in for a sticky summer this time around.
What makes matters worse is the fact that even the weather god gave the city a miss, with hardly any rainfall in Bengal for the past six months.
The mercury has been recording a steady rise during the last couple of weeks, with today's maximum temperature being recorded at 36.8 degrees Celsius.
Even the minimum temperature has recorded an appreciable rise at 28 degrees Celsius, met office sources said.
The high relative humidity at 88 per cent today made life worse for the citizens.
