Simi Garewal inaugurates 'Confluence'

Mumbai, Apr 12 (UNI) A unique exhibition of stainless steel 'Confluence' showing attractive sculptors like seven steps of Buddha, Jhoola prepared with steel wires, sofa sets, flow of river through rocks and steel and others, was inaugurated by veteran actor and T V anchor Simi Garewal.

Inaugurating the exhibition yesterday, presented by artd'inox Ms Garewal said the rare attempt of such exhibition in city which prouds to have many artistes will evoke good response from the people.

The exhibition will continue till April 15 at Tao Art Gallery here.

Confluence is a captivating exhibition of the finest contemporary art from around the world-featuring renowned artistes Ariya Kitticharoenwiwat, Dashrath Patel, Pinakin Patel, Rolf Kluenter, Sanjib Chatterjee, Anjali Wakankar and Vibhor Sogani.

Artd'inox, life style division of Jindal stainless steel, held the similar exhibition in New Delhi last month which evoked good response, Artd'inox CEO Sugato Bose said.

''We may think of having such exhibitions in other metros and abroad also,'' Mr Bose added.

The minimum cost of the sculpture depicted in the exhibition was Rs 15,000 while the maximum running in several lakh.

''The idea of this exhibition is to create awareness about interesting use of steel going beyond household products. Steel has a conventional image of belonging only to kitchen. This show will break that image,'' curator of Confluence Ms Deepika Jindal said.

Among the most attractive sculptures which were depicted in the exhibition included Seven Steps of Buddha by Sanjib Chatterjee and Anjali Wakankar, the famous jhoola prepared with steel wires in place of nylon wires, sofa sets prepared with steel and wood.
