Scottish airport closed due to security alert

LONDON, Apr 12 (Reuters) Glasgow's Prestwick Airport has been closed due to a security alert, police said today.

''There is an ongoing incident. The airport is closed,'' said a spokeswoman for Strathclyde Police.

She could not confirm media reports that a plane was diverted to Prestwick due to a security alert on board.

No further details were immediately available.
