Rajkhowa Commission probe into the rape cases in Manipur continues

Imphal, Apr 12 (UNI) The Rajkhowa Commission, probing the alleged rape of 21 women at Churachandpur and molestation of M Naobi by Thoubal police, has started collecting statements.

So far a large numbers of statements regarding the two incidents have been filed, the officials said here today.

The state govenment has made arrangements to conduct the inquiry at Churachandpur district from April 18, the officials added.

The government would also make special arrangments to collect statements from the victims.

So far about 15 FIRs had been filed related to the rape case.

The probe into the molestation of M Naobi was also progressing as the victim has filed a statement.

However, sit in protests continued in various parts of the state to demand punishment of the police personnel involved in the alleged molestation.
