Panalpina, Logiwiz jointly launch logistics centre

Mumbai, Apr 12 (UNI) Logistics services provider Panalpina World Transport has set up its first modern centre in Whitefield, Bangalore, in partnership with Logiwiz Logistics (I) Pvt Ltd.

The UK-based company is also planning to open four more such facilities in Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai in the next two years, with an investment of Rs 140 crore.

Spread over 40,000 sq ft area, the centre will provide servives of material handling equipment (MHE), selective pallet racking system, docking bays equipped to handle 20 ft and 40 ft trailers and a comprehensive insurance coverage for its customers, a release issued here said.

Panalpina's regional CEO Robert Timmerman said the company is committed to bring best practices, technology, processes and significant investment in India in order to facilitate development of critical infrastructure.

''In India we have a double digit growth rate and with the launch of this logistics centre, the company expects to grow further and be a reliable and efficient business partner for growing customer base,'' Panalpina's South Asia Managing Director Markus A Meucke said.
