Jamnagar civic body demolishes religious structures under TP Scheme
Jamnagar, Apr 12 (UNI) Armed with Gujarat High Court judgment in its favour, Jamnagar Municipal Corporation (JMC) here today demolished two religious places which fell under the city's Town Planning (TP) scheme.
A large posse of JMC staff, accompanied by policemen, started the operation at 0400 hours to raze both the structures to ground.
However, the devotees safely removed the idol and other items of religious importance, after performing prayers.
While the Khodiyar Mataji's temple situated on the Jamnagar-Dwarka Road, the Jamiyal Dargah was in the heart of the city near Guru Govind Singh Civil Hospital.
Both the structures are said to be over hunderd years old.
