Mumbai, Apr 12 (UNI) Bombay High Court today granted bail to 'encounter specialist' Daya Nayak's associate Rajan Padte, for his alleged involvement in helping the former to gather assets, disproportionate to his known sources of income.

After Padte's bail was granted, Nayak also moved a plea to release him on bail. The case would come up for hearing tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Justice V M Kanade, while granting bail to Padte, directed him to furnish a surety of Rs 10,000 and also attend office of the investigating officer as and when required by them.

Padte, who had been languishing in jail, had urged the court to grant him bail on parity basis, as the Court had earlier released a co-accused in the case - P Manivelan, as police failed to file a chargesheet against him within the stipulated period of 90 days.
