HC dimisses petition of Varanasi blast mastermind's wife

Allahabad, Apr 12 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court today dismissed a habeas corpus petition filed by the wife of the March seven Varanasi blast mastermind Waliullah, alleging unlawful detention of her husband.

The Division Bench comprising Justices M C Jain and K K Mishra, dismissed the petition of Umera Khatun, wife of Phoolpur (Allahabad) resident Waliullah, who was recently arrested along with five others for the twin blast in Varanasi.

In her petition, Umera had alleged that her husband was lifted by the police from their house on March 26 last, even though he had not committed any crime.

The HC dismissed the petition after the Uttar Pradesh government counsel informed the court today that Waliullah has been taken on police remand in connection with the blast at the Sankatmochan temple and Varanasi Cnatonment railway station.
