Hafed posts Rs 47 crore profit,10% dividend for member societies

Chandigarh, Apr 12 (UNI) The Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (Hafed) has made a net profit of Rs 47 crore during the last financial year.

During the Annual General Body Meeting of Hafed held here today, Mr K S Bhoria, Financial Commissioner, Cooperation and Chairman Hafed has declared a dividend of 10 per cent for its Member Cooperative Marketing Societies and other shareholders for the financial year 2002-03 and 2003-04.

In the meeting it was also notified that the Federation has become one of the first cooperative organisation of its size in the country to get the quality management systems ISO 9001:2000 to all its establishments and (HACCP) certification for all its oil and rice mills.

While announcing Patronage Rebate of Rs 70,000 to Rs 1.50 Lakh for the year 2002-03 and Rs one lakh to Rs 2.50 lakh for the year 2003-04 to each Member Cooperative Marketing Societies, Mr Rajan Gupta, Managing Director, Hafed congratulated all the delegates for achievements of Hafed. He assured full cooperation to all its delegates for the upliftment of member cooperative marketing societies.

Adequate arrangements for stocking of various inputs that is fertilizers, pesticides etc have already been made by the Federation, Mr Gupta added.

In order to encourage its member cooperative marketing societies, prizes for the achievement in different fields including overall turn over, total profit, sale of fertilizer, pesticides, animal feeds etc were also distributed on the occasion. Fatehabad, Cooperative Marketing Society was awarded the first prize in the category of overall turnover followed by Karnal and Tohana Societies.

Fatehabad, Cooperative Marketing Society bagged the first prize for the best overall profitability, Sonepat, Society achieved the second position and the third position was held by Thanesar.

In fertilizer sales Gohana Cooperative Marketing Society attained first position, while Narnaud and Rewari bagged the second and third position. In sale of pesticides, Cooperative Marketing Society, Jagadhari, was declared first, Gohana was second and Jind third.

Mohindergarh Cooperative Marketing Society bagged the first position in sale of animal feed followed by Bahttu Kalan and Adampur Societies.

In the category of achieving highest turnover with the minimum number of staff available Ballabhgarh Marketing Society was declared the best while Narwana and Asandh Societies were second and third respectively.
