Security personnel opened fired killing one Bishnu Pandey in the Nawalaparasi district in south west Kathmandu this afternoon.

Thousands of protesters took to the streets after the relaxation of curfew in the capital. The security forces, however, interevened and arrested over 100 protesters while injuring many.

Demonstrations were being organised at Gongabu, Mahabaudha, Kirtipur, Ghattekulo, Kalanki, Chabahil, and Patan since this morning.

Protesters have erased the phrase 'His Majesty' from signboards at the government offices and replaced it with 'Nepal Government' in different parts of the country.

The demonstrations called by political parties are being supported by people from different walks of life including the journalists, lawyers, doctors, teachers, human rights activists, government employees and civil society representatives.

Meanwhile, Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce, an umbrella organisation of commerce and industry, has also expressed solidarity with the democratic movement.
