Cong advises Geroge to join BJP

New Delhi, Apr 12 (UNI) The Congress today advised former Defence Minister George Fernandes to join the BJP and the RSS, saying his own party, JD(U), has disowned him.

''He (Fernandes) should go to the BJP, RSS to which he belongs as he has been taught a lesson by his own partymen,''Congress spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said commenting on the convincing defeat of Mr Fernandes in the contest for JD (U) president's post, securing only 25 votes against Mr Sharad Yadav.

''It is a recurrence of 1993 when he lost the leadership contest of the Janata Dal,''Mr Singhvi said briefing mediapersons here.

''His dynamite image has been blown to smitherings by his own party workers,'' Mr Singhvi said. "Those who talk of Third Front should instead start a vote collection front as his own party workers have disowned him." UNI YS YA HT1940
