CM calls for more decentralisation of power

Agartala, Apr 12 (UNI) Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar today called for more decentralisation of power to ensure increased benefits to the people at the grassroot level and all round development of the state.

Inaugurating a new sub-divisional headquarters at Shantirbazar in South Tripura district, Mr Sarkar emphasised the need for closer co-operation between the people and the administration. He said better inter-action between the public and the administration would ensure faster growth.

He said the newly created Shantirbazar sub-division would be a model one.

Earlier, he inaugurated another sub-divisional headquarters at Teliamura in West Tripura district yesterday.

With Shantirbazar and Teliamura, the state will now have 17 sub-divisions.
