BSF BDR flag meeting to defuse tension

Barasat, Apr 12 (UNI) Border Security Force (BSF) and Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) today held a flag meeting at a border outpost of Banyaberia in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.

The flag meeting, attended by top officials of BSF and BDR, was necessitated follwing an incident in which some Bangladeshi miscreants had trespassed into the Indian territory and kidnapped an Indian resident of Banyaberia. They also took away many cattle heads. The Indian was later set free after being beaten up, the BSF officials said.

The incident created tension among the Indians living in the border area.
