Block pramukh, associate shot dead, driver injured in Etah

Etah, Apr 12 (UNI) A newly elected block pramukh and his associate were shot dead by unidentified assailants, while his driver wounded in the same attack near the district headquarters here this afternoon.

District Magistrate Ram Kumar told UNI here that newly elected block chief from Shitlapur development block Bhupendra Singh Yadav (40), his associate Pappu Yadav (44) were killed and their driver Pawan Varshney wounded, when masked assailants on three motorcycles opened indiscriminate fire over the trio.

Mr Ramkumar said political rivalry was suspected to the cause of the killing.

Tension has gripped the Etah city following the killing and security has been stepped up in the entire area.
