BEML's International Business Division inaugurated

Bangalore, Apr 12 (UNI) Defence Secretary (Defence production) K P Singh today inaugurated new offices of the International Business Division, Technology Division and Training Division of public sector Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) here.

Mr Singh also laid the foundation stone for the new Metro Fabrication Hanger, to be built for manufacturing Metro cars for the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

BEML Chairman and Managing Director V R S Natarajan took Mr Singh around the sophisticated facilities of the unit. Mr Singh reviewed the progress of major projects, including Metro supplies and held discussions with the management.

In an attempt to become a global company, BEML had set up a separate Strategic Business Unit through the International Business Division to handle its growing markets and product supplies. It had also launched the Technology Divison, which drew from the rich and diverse experience of Research and Development in various realms of technology with extensive use of CAD/CAE/CAM and offered high-end engineering solution services to provide end-to-end solution, according to a company release here.

The company had received a letter of intent for 312 Metro coaches from DMRC, worth Rs 1,500 crore, which was likely to be converted into an order in a month or two, the release said.
