AP govt should initiate to pass categorisation bill: Krishna
Rajahmundry, Apr 12 (UNI) Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) founder president Manda Krishna Madiga today demanded that the Andhra Pradesh government should take initiative to pass the categorisation bill in Parliament before May 14.
Addressing a press conference, Mr Krishna, who is on bed rest for the last three days here following weakness, said he would resume his padayatra tomorrow and reach Hyderabad on May 14.
Accusing Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy of dilly dallying the issue without taking any steps, he demanded that the Chief Minister should take up the matter with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi during his visit to New Delhi.
Stating that categorisation is in vogue in Punjab and Haryana for the past 30 years, he said demanded that an all party meet be convened to take a decision on it.
If the categorisation bill was not tabled and passed in Parliament before May 14, MRPS activists would lay a seige to Chief Minister's house, he added.
Mr Krishna launched his padayatra from Amalapuram on April five.
