Advani cancels Karnataka leg of Yatra

Bangalore, Apr 12 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani cancelled his Karnataka leg of the Bharat Suraksha yatra following the sudden demise of Kannada matinee idol Rajkumar.

Mr Advani, who had reached Sholapur in neighbouring Maharashtra and was to enter Karnataka this evening, cancelled his programme on hearing the news of Rajkumar's death. He would hold a condolence meeting in Sholapur and his tour planners would chalk out the revised tour programme, BJP sources here said.

Mr Advani was to reach Dhulakhed, bordering Karnataka and Maharashtra, this evening and was to address a public meeting in Bijapur. Tomorrow, he was to address meetings at Bagalkot, Nargund and Navalgund before reaching Hubli and on the final lap on April 14, he was to address meetings at Gadag, Koppal, Hospet and Bellary before entering Andhra Pradesh on April 15 morning.
