64 Slice CT scanners installed at Narayana Hrudayalaya
Bangalore, Apr 12 (UNI) Teleradiology Solutions, a leading provider of teleradiology services, today announced the installation of 64 slice CT scanners at the super speciality Narayana Hrudayalaya Institute of Medical Sciences here.
The 64 slice was a high-tech ultra fast CT Machine, which gave 64 images of the heart and the coronary arteries surrounding it, within five to ten seconds. It allowed doctors to find out blockages inside blood vessels that were caused by a build up of plaque, a condition called artherosclerosis.
Speaking after the installation, Teleradiology Solutions Chief Executive Officer Dr Arjun Kalyanpur said ''there has been an alarming threefold increase in the prevalence of coronary artery disease in India over the past four decades. Based on current trends, in five years, 60 per cent of heart patients worldwide will be of Indian origin and therefore it is imperative for people with high-risk of heart disease in the family to get themselves examined and make necessary changes to their lifestyle, diet and exercise habits to prevent a heart attack.''
