Two villagers catch 17 live snakes
Phagwara, Apr 11 (UNI) Two villagers Satnam Singh and Raju, despite being bitten a number of times, caught 17 live snakes from the debris of a house in Bhularai village near here.
Eyewitnesses told UNI today that Satnam saw a few snakes while returning home after work at his fields late last night. He, along with a village youth Raju caught two snakes in the first attempt, and saw more snakes sneaking out of the debris.
In their attempt to catch the reptiles they were bitten a number of times. But this did not deter them from catching all the 17 snakes. They stuffed them in a gunny sack.
The reptiles were later handed over to the Wildlife officals this morning. The two are now being treated at the civil hospital here for snake bites.
The condition of the duo was stated to be stable by the doctors, as the snakes were non-poisonous.
