Two groups clash in Jalandhar jail

Jalandhar, Apr 11 (UNI) The central jail security personnel used batons to control two groups of jail inmates who clashed on the jail premises here after an incident of stabbing this afternoon.

A police spokesman said that a verbal duel between two inmates took an ugly turn and one of the clashing inmates stabbed a undertrial Jeevan Kumar.

The incident led to clash between supporters of both inmates and the wardens and security staff had to use force to control the situation.

Injured Jeewan Kumar was admitted to civil hospital here for treatment.
