Tripartite agreement signs for computerisation

Ranchi, Apr 11: A tripartite agreement was signed here today in presence of Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda for computerization of all the 29 registration offices in the state.

The agreement was signed between the departments of registration, and information technology and M/S CMC Ltd.

An official spokesman said the agreement was a significant milestone of e-governance and Private Public Partnership(PPP).

In this project, the Private Service Provider(SP) would provide services to the citizens.In this model it is the service provider which would do the site preparation, install the computers and man the counters in all the registration offices. Under the overall supervision of the concerned sub-registrar and its officers, the service provider, on behalf of the government, would accept documents for registration, charge fees and do the entire processing, scan the documents and finally deliver the documents to the customer within an average period of 30 minutes from its presentation, he said.

The project has been a joint effort of the department of information technology and registration. The IT department would supply and update the software and the department of registation would effectively run the project, he added.
