Traffic hit in AP Highway due to mishap

Vijayawada, Apr 11: Traffic on the busy Vijayawada-Hyderabad National Highway came to grinding halt following a head-on collision between two lorries at Dandumalkapuram past midnight last night.

Police said no one was injured in the mishap. However, traffic was affected and long lines of vehicles stretching up to five kms could be seen. Passengers travelling by buses were put to hardship for nearly six hours.

An RTC official told sources that several buses passing through Vijayawada were running indefinitely late due to the mishap.

Traffic was restored after police intervention, he added.
