Traders call bandh on Apr 13 in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Apr 11 (UNI) Traders in Rajasthan have called for a one-day strike on Thursday in protest against the confusion over imposition of the Value Added Tax (VAT) regime in the state.

Over 500 businessmen and traders under the Rajasthan Sakal Vyapar Udyog Sangarsh Samiti have called the bandh as they claimed there was a confusion over the new tax regime.

Traders said the tax rate in VAT should be similar to that in the neighbouring states, adding, ''we are agitating as the state government is ignoring our pleas to simplify the tax structure.'' They also warned of an indefinite strike if the government continued to ignore their problems.
