Three women labourers run over

Tiruchirapalli, Apr 11 (UNI) Three women were crushed to death and two others injured when a mini lorry ran over them near Viyampatti, about 60 km from here today.

Police said the deceased, all farm labourers, were identified as Rakkamal (35), Muthammal (38) and Chakkrammal (40). They were on their way to work when the mishap occurred.

The mini lorry driver, who was in an inebriated condition and was overspeeding, lost control of the vehicle. It first dashed against a tree on the road side and climbed on to the platform.

The driver and a woman who were injured, were admitted to government hospital at Manapparai.
