Spanish judge charges 29 with March 11 bomb plot
MADRID, Apr 11 (Reuters) A Spanish judge said 29 people should stand trial for their part in the 2004 Madrid train bombings, his official report showed today, paving the way for one of Europe's biggest terrorism trials.
The March 11 attacks, blamed on radical Islamists, killed 191 people, injured about 2,000 others and were credited with changing the course of politics in Spain.
Given the complexity of the case and the number of people involved, the actual trial may not start until early next year.
