'Pangui Uthiram' celebrated in TN
Tiruchirapalli, Apr 11: Hundreds of devotees thronged the historic Lord Subramaniaswamy Temple at Kumara Vayaloor, here on the occasion of 'Pangui Uthiram' today.
The festival was celebrated with traditional fervour and gaiety with devotees carrying milk pots on their heads and the 'kavadi' (a metal or bamboo structure decorated with peacock feathers and flowers) on the shoulders.
Special poojas and abhishekams (ritualistic bath) were performed to the deity.
Large number of devotees were also seen at Viralimalai in neighbouring Pudukkotai District housing another famous hill shrine of Lord Muruga.
