Pali tense after flareup between two communities
Jaipur, Apr 11 (UNI) At least 15 people were injured in a stone throwing incident in Pali town of Western Rajasthan today.
There was a squabble between people of two communities as the Mahavir Jayanti procession proceeded through the town. Some miscreants pelted stones at the procession leading to a flare up.
Pali is tense after the incident and section 141 has been promulgated in the town, police said.
Additional Director General of Police Kanhaiya Lal said additional forces from Udaipur, Ajmer and Jodhpur have been called in to tackle the situation.
The Muslim community's Barah Wafat procession is also to be taken out today.
Police said attempts were being made to pacify members of both the communities. Some people have also been arrested in this connection.
