Multi-lingual Character decorates our cultural excellence: Azad
Jammu, Apr 11 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said our rich civilization which has a documented history, is decorated with multilingual character.
Speaking on the silver jubilee celebration of two-day Pahari Literary Cultural Conference yesterday, Chief minister said "languages are instrument of love and brotherhood irrespective of any region, religion, caste and creed,".
He added "Geographical divide has injured basic spirit of our history,". The conference was organized by J&K Academy of Art and Cultural Languages .
Appreciating Pahari speaking people for their patriotism and secularism, he said " from National Conference regime till date, central government has been approached several times for inclusion of Pahari speaking people in the Scheduled Tribe category".
Azad said his announcement in Assembly for inclusion of Kashmiri, Dogri, Punjabi, Gojri and Ladakhi in the school syllabus from the primary standard shall be applicable to Pahari language as well.
Chief Minister finally emphasized that all intellectuals, writers, linguistics, politicians, administrators and other influencial people should join their hands in strengthening the pillars of secularism.
