MP tops in disbursing REGS job cards
Bhopal, Apr 11: The Madhya Pradesh Government has topped in disbursing job cards in 18 selected districts under the Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in the country.
Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said the state had achieved second place in receiving application for registration under the scheme.
The government registered 40,33,166 families under the scheme in the state in mere two months, while more than 34 lakh job cards had been disbursed.
Mr Tomar said prior arrangements had been made for implementing the scheme. The government accorded top priority to registering families and disbursing job cards as soon as the scheme started.
Under the scheme, a family gets 100 days of guaranteed employment during a fiscal failing which employment allowance is provided.
