Jalandhar, Apr 11(UNI) Ace shooter Jaspal Rana today asked the authorities to re-appoint former coach Tibor Gonczol and said he would invite the Aussie as his personal coach if they refused.

Talking to UNI on the sidelines of the 4th Sardar Sajjan Singh Sethi Memorial Masters' Shooting Championships here, Rana said Gonczol had done everything for Indian shooting team during his 12-year long tenure between 1991 and 2002 and the shooters were happy during his stint.

Later Gonczol's services had been discontinued in view of his age, but Rana said age of a coach sould not come in the way of accomplishment of his task and therefore age factor should not work against Gonczol.

The star shooter also stressed on the need of increasing the scoring capability of Indian marksmen.

Rana said the Indian shooters' performance at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games was satisfactory medal-wise but not score-wise.

He said the team has potentials to improve further as they have talented and good shooters like Abhinav Bindra, Gagan Narang, Samresh Jung, Anjali Bhagwat, Suma Shiror and Deepali Deshpande.
