IMTMA summit in Chennai from April 20
Bangalore, Apr 11 (UNI) Over 600 delegates from small, medium and large scale companies from the metal working industry, especially machine tool users and manufacturers of the country, will take part in the first-ever Productivity Summit, to be held in Chennai from April 20.
The three-day event, organised by the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA), would showcase the latest productivity highlights in the machine tool sector. The summit would be inaugurated by TVS Motors Chairman and Managing Director Venu Srinivasan, and National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council Chairman Dr V Krishnamurthy would deliver the valedictory address.
Manufacturing systems re-design, idle time reduction, better asset utilisation, quality route to productivity, optimising metal working process, leveraging IT to increase productivity and productivity metrics would be the focus areas, IMTMA said in a release here today.
The event would be a platform for networking and exchange of ideas. Coinciding with the Summit, IMTMA, supported by Siemens, had instituted the 'IMTMA-Siemens Productivity Championship Awards' to recognise creativity and innovativeness of the Indian manufacturers in their quest towards attaining highest levels of productivity, the release said.
