Bangalore, Apr 11: Enthused by the growth both in sales and development in India, World leader in printing solutions EFI aimed to expand its operations in the country and will soon open its own campus.

EFI Chairman and Ceo Guy Gecht told newsmen here last night that the Asian region in general and India in particular will be fuelling the further growth in the sector and the company aimed to increase its turnover by 100 million dollars in 2006 over last year's figure of 470 million dollars. The Asian region contributed 15 per cent of it and India provided a big chunk of it.

He said the Company spent 25 per cent of its revenue on Research and Development and India's share in the developmental fund would be sizeable. He, however, declined to come out with the exact numbers.

He said India had emerged as one of the fastest growing markets for EFI. EFI India, the subsidiary of EFI, was the largest R and D venture outside the US and was being scaled up to better manage the development of some of the key software products and solutions.

EFI's product portfolio consisted of its powerful flagship product Fiery controllers and world class print management systems, proofing products and web enabled job submission tools and integration solutions.

During the second half of this year, EFI planned to launch the world's first bio-solvent ink, made predominently from corn, which was environmentally friendly ink. The Company had also entered into an exclusive partnership with Codice of Spain for double system control visual technology.
