CPI(ML) demands restoration of Amir Das Commission
Patna, Apr 11 (UNI) Taking exception to the Bihar government decision of winding up the Amir Das Commission, constituted to identify the political links of the Ranveer Sena, the CPI(ML) today sought Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi's intervention in the matter.
In a letter to the Governor, CPI(ML) general secretary Deepankar Bhattacharya alleged that the state government in its bid to cover up the politicians giving 'patronage' to the Ranveer sena had terminated the tenure of the Amir Das Commission without allowing it to submit the report, which was nearing completion.
The Commission had collected vital evidence indicating some of the BJP leaders patronising the Ranveer Sena, which was responsible for the killing of more than 60 Dalits in 1997 at Laxmanpur-Bathe village of Bihar, he added.
