Body recovered from BJD law maker's residence
Bhubaneswar, Apr 11 (UNI) Police today registered a case of unnatural death after it recovered a man's body from the official residence of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) legislator Arun Kumar Sahu here, Inspector-in-charge of the capital police station Harihar Dora said.
The deceased, identified as Chabbi Bardhan (35), belonged to Ratanpur village in Nayagarh district and was a known district level BJD activist.
Mr Sahu, however, described the incident as a case of ''suicide''. Refusing to give further details, the lawmaker from Nayagarh assembly segment, said he would like the matter to be investigated thoroughly by the police.
'' We have already registered a case of unnatural death and are awaiting the post-mortem report,'' the police officer said.
However, the wife of the deceased, Kumari Bardhan, alleged that her husband had been murdered.
''He had zest for life. Why should he kill himself without any apparent reason'', she questioned.
