Lucknow, Apr 10: In a startling allegation, the BJP today termed a senior Uttar Pradesh police official as an ISI agent and blamed him for failing to check communal flare-up in Aligarh.

Addressing the media here, senior BJP leader and former UP chief minister Kalyan Singh alleged that IG (Kanpur zone) Rizwan Ahmed was working at the ISI behest.

Mr Singh also accused the IG of disposing off the body of Triloki, -- son of BJP MLA Devkinandan Kori -- who was buried as ''unidentified'' after autopsy revealed that he was a Muslim.

''How can a man who has Om tatooed on his arm be a Muslim...he was circumcised after his body was found with bullet wounds,'' the BJP leader claimed.

The IG even made Triloki be identified as Asif Khan to cover up the entire episode, he said.

As long as Mr Ahmed is remains as IG zone, riots in Aligarh cannot be controlled. Therefore, I demand Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav to immediately suspend the official and institute a probe to ascertain his ISI links,'' he added.

Mr Singh went on to claim that some Aligarh district officials had informed him that the authorities were maintaining an ''anti-Hindu stand'' under pressure of the IG.

The BJP leader also defended DM R K Singh and SSP Ajay Anand -- both suspended after the riots -- for opening fire on rioters.

''They did this to defend themselves after being surrounded in Dahiwali Gali,'' he claimed.

The former CM alleged that when Mr Ahmed was posted as DIG (Gorakhpur range), ISI's known agent Irshad Beg of Nepal used to travel in the officer's official vehicle.

Earlier, fresh tension erupted in Aligarh town this morning after the body of a youth buried yesterday -- being identified as member of the minority community during autopsy -- was found to be that of the son of BJP MLA Devkinandan Kori.

Police had buried the body of Triloki alias Vicky, 25, terming him as ''unidentified.'' He was killed in police firing on April 8 in the curfew-bound Sasnigate area.

The body was exhumed today and handed over to Devkinanadan Kori, BJP MLA from Sasni in the nearby Mahamayanagar (Hathras) district.
