London, Apr 9 (UNI) Coach Greg Chappell is anything but complacent by Team India's amazing run in the limited over cricket, and the Aussie wants the players to keep improving so as to give themselves a chance to make it into the last four at the World Cup next year.

''We have to be on our toes, thinking ahead and working on how we can improve. We cannot afford to sit back and relax,'' he said.

''If we can keep building on that over the next 12 months, we'll be competitive [at the World Cup] and give ourselves a chance of getting to the semi-finals,'' Chappell told BBC.

''From that point on, it's anyone's guess. But there will be four or five good teams so we'll need to be playing well,'' he said.

Admitting that there was not much of an experience in the team, Chappell underlined the importance of giving young guns more exposure before the mega event in the Caribbeans.

''There's not a lot of experience in our side -- three or four blokes have played a lot of cricket but the rest haven't played much at all.

''We will need all of them to be as experienced as possible,'' the Aussie said.

Chappell's new look team, under the able leadership of Rahul Dravid, has seen an amazing turnaround and after drubbing Sri Lanka and Pakistan, they have already wrested the seven-match series 4-0 from England.

The former Australia captain had guided India to eight wins in succession in one-day internationals until Sunday's washed out encounter at Guwahati.

Reflecting on his nine months in charge, Chappell chose to take a philosophical note.

''It's a challenging job. It's been interesting, exciting, a rollercoaster ride in many ways,'' he said ''Enjoy is not a word I would use, but I'm learning something new everyday.'' UNI XC DH PK KP1653
