Special security system - M for Moaists and K for Kamtapuri

Siliguri, Apr 9 (UNI) Taking no chances before the coming elections in West Bengal, the border areas of Asom, Bhutan and Bangladesh would come under a special security system by the local administration.

Para-military forces would be deployed in the two international borders with Bangladesh and Nepal and adjacent state of Asom, official sources said here today.

For this about 17 police stations have been identified, which would be taken over by the para-military forces.

The administration was preparing maps of those police stations that would be taken over by the force.

Police and Intelligence department classified the bordering areas under the 17 police stations of Jalpaiguri district into two parts, ''sensitive for Maoist'' and ''sensitive for political clashes''.

''M'' is a code given to areas which are sensitive for Maoists and the areas where the Kamtapur Liberation Orgzanisation (KLO) is active identifed as code ''K''.

Apart from these 17 police stations, all the police stations in the area would be categorised inot ''A'', ''B'' and ''C''.

Additional Superintendent of Police of Jalpaiguri Tapas Das told UNI that extra force would be deployed to the ''A'' and ''M'' ranked areas.

This system would come into effect in the village areas three days before election begins, Mr Das added.
