Sibal discusses nuclear deal, tech issues with US senators

New Delhi, Apr 09 (UNI) Science and Technology Minister Kapil Sibal has discussed the civil nuclear deal and other issues of bilateral cooperation with US lawmakers during a visit to America, an official statement here said today.

Issues related to energy security concerns also ''figured prominently in his talks'' in the US, it said. Describing India and the US as ''natural partners'', the Minister called for strong collaborative ties between the two countries.

Mr Sibal met several Senators and Congressmen including Senator Jeff Bingaman, Congressman Joseph Crowley and Gary Ackerman in Washington on April 6.

He also visited the George Washington University Law School and addressed the faculty members and students on IPR related issues. He also interacted with the think tank at Council on foreign relations and addressed a large gathering of intellectuals on Science and Technology for development - The Indian experience'', the statement added.
