SCR registers record earning during 2005-06

Hyderabad, Apr 09 (UNI) South Central Railway (SCR) has achieved a new mile stone in its earnings during 2005-06 with the earnings rising to Rs 4814 crore, compared to Rs 4203.76 crore in 2004-05.

The earnings from freight traffic was Rs 3450 crore this year, against Rs 2884.80 crore in 2004-05. The passenger traffic earnings was Rs 1234 crore as against Rs 1191 crore last year, according to a press release.

The all-round increase in earnings was all the more creditable on account of the fact that the zone had faced a tough situation due to cyclonic conditions and its after effects between July 2005 and December 2005, a press release said here.
